What We Do
The purpose of our club is to encourage quality breeding of purebred Shih Tzu dogs and to bring their natural qualities to perfection. We urge our members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Shih Tzu Club as the only standard by which the Shih Tzu breed is judged. We will do all in our power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging good sportsmanship at dog shows and other events. We conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows under the Rules and Regulations of the American Kennel Club. We also try to educate the public on the proper care and training of their dogs.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Shih Tzu Club serves as an education tool for Shih Tzu fanciers. We are licensed by the American Kennel Club, and hold a Shih Tzu specialty show annually in the Atlanta Georgia area.
